Putin demands proof of Russia meddling in US presidential election
Russian President Vladimir Putin told NBC News that Russia needs to examine the evidence and independently decide whether those accused of tampering in the US presidential election in 2016 are guilty, reported TASS news agency of Russia.
Putin commented on the US accusations against thirteen Russian citizens and three Russian organizations, which Washington suspects of meddling in American elections.
“We [Russia] cannot respond to the accusations if the accused have not violated Russian laws,” the Russian president said when asked about foreign intervention in US presidential elections. “I need to see what these people have done. Give us the documents, the relevant information.”
