Russia ratifies deal on single division of troops with Armenia
The Russian State Duma on Friday ratified the agreement regarding the establishment of a single division of troops.
This agreement and its appendix determine the role, formation, deployment, and function procedure of this division of Armenian and Russian troops.
It is noted that this single division is intended for ensuring military security in the Caucasus region of the Collective Security.
Single command is created to manage the single division of troops. The decision on the deployment and application of the joint grouping is made jointly by the supreme commanders-in-chief of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and Armenia.
The aforesaid bill specifies that this agreement is concluded for five years, and with the option of automatic extension for five more years.
