Yerevan court trial into Jirair Sefilian adjourns before getting underway
Friday’s first court session in the trial into Jirair Sefilian, Gevorg Safaryan, and several other opposition activists adjourned immediately after having begun, in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.
The Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed from on location that, later, the attorneys explained that court session had adjourned because not all the attorneys involved were at the courtroom.
Criminal charges were brought against Sefilian on one count of organizing riots, and one count of making preparations for seizing buildings and facilities with the use of weapons. Each of these counts stipulates up to ten years in prison. He is under arrest.
