Zhamanak: Aznavour to step down as Armenia’s goodwill ambassador to Switzerland

World-famous singer and songwriter Charles Aznavour is no longer going to be Armenia’s goodwill ambassador to Switzerland and the UN Geneva Headquarters, the paper has learned.

Instead, Ara Babloyan, a former health minister elected to the National Assembly from the ruling Republican Party’s ballot, will be appointed to the post. The 70-year-old doctor, specializing in urological surgery, will thus quit his job to start a career in diplomacy, says the paper, citing its sources.
